Ushna Gautam Crowned Champion Scholar as Rai School Shines at WSC Kathmandu Regionals 2026

Kathmandu — Rai School delivered an extraordinary performance at the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Kathmandu Regionals 2026, winning more than 150 medals and six trophies in what marks only its third year of participation in the prestigious global academic competition.

Demonstrating excellence across multiple categories—including Scholar’s Bowl, Scholar’s Challenge, Team Challenge, Debate, and Writing—Rai School secured the First Overall Champion Scholar title and the Second Overall Team position in the Senior Division.

Leading the historic achievement was Ushna Gautam, who was crowned the First Champion Scholar, earning one trophy and an impressive 15 medals. She secured 5 gold and 1 silver medal in the Scholar’s Challenge, placed 4th as an Individual Debater, and achieved 9th position in Writing. Her remarkable consistency, intellectual depth, and competitive spirit set her apart as the top scholar of the regional event.

In the Senior Team category, the trio of Ushna Gautam, Chhavi Agrawal, and Jasmine Sophie Acharya (Grade 9) combined their strengths to secure the Second Overall Team title. The team won four trophies, claiming 1st place in the Scholar’s Bowl, 5th in the Team Challenge, 10th in Debate, and 2nd Overall Team — a testament to their teamwork and academic versatility.

In the Junior Division, Nysa Loonia, Kapish Agarwal, and Namish Maskara also brought pride to the school by securing 6th place in Team Debate.

The results mark a significant milestone for Rai School, reflecting the dedication of its students and mentors. With accolades earned across diverse disciplines, the school now turns its focus toward the upcoming Global Rounds, carrying forward the momentum of this landmark achievement.
