Kathmandu, 25 October. Prabhu Group President Devi Prakash Bhattachan’s name was published by CPN-UML in the proportional list. Bhattachan’s name was also in the initial list sent by the Nepali Congress to the Election Commission. Many Congressmen were surprised to see Bhattachan’s name in the final list of proportional candidates submitted by UML.

It is natural to be surprised to see Bhattachan in the proportional list of UML. Because Bhattachan is also a representative of the Nepali Congress convention. According to him, his family background is Congress. He said that he has been a member of the Congress since 2048.

Bhattachan, who has also been the vice-chairman of the organization department of the Nepali Congress, was a well-known businessman but was trying to get involved in politics from the Deuba faction of the Congress. He also left the chairmanship of Prabhu Bank to join politics. Bhattachan, who dreamed of becoming an MP in 2048, was determined not to miss this opportunity.

Bhattachan, who was ready to contest the election even though he won directly, was named by the Congress as the fifth number in terms of tribes and submitted to the proportional list commission. He even bargained with the Congress to keep himself in the first or second number of the proportionality, saying that the MP would be confirmed if he was in the first or second number. Bhattachan became angry with the Congress after not being able to get the first or second number.

After getting the information that Bhattachan was dissatisfied, some leaders of UML took this matter to Oli. Being a well-known businessman, UML president Oli also seemed positive to bring in Bhattachan.

After that, UML leader Padma Aryal, leaders Prithvi Suvva Gurung, Vishnu Poudel and others met Bhattachan for a briefing that their party would give a guarantee that they would become MPs and that they would have to spend some money for that. If the UML kept it as the first number on the tribal side, then Bhattachan also left the Congress accepting the conditions of the UML.

With this agreement, Bhattachan’s dream of becoming an MP, which he saw in 2048, will be fulfilled in 2079. Being the first number of the tribe, it is almost certain that Bhattachan will become ‘Honorable’ after the next election.
