September 10, Renowned entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist Chirag Goyal has been elected to the Board of Directors of Excel Development Bank Limited at the institution’s 20th Annual General Meeting.

A native of Budhabare, Jhapa, Goyal’s induction to the board of one of Eastern Nepal’s most prominent financial institutions marks a significant step in bringing his extensive entrepreneurial and business acumen to the banking sector. Associated with the Goyal Group, he has been active for years across diverse industries including manufacturing, trade, banking and finance, insurance, real estate, mining, renewable energy, agriculture, hospitality, and construction.

Beyond business, Goyal has spent over a decade deeply engaged in social and humanitarian work. His journey began with Helping Hands Nepal following the 2015 earthquake, and has since grown through initiatives such as Robin Hood Army Nepal, spanning food relief, education, healthcare, disaster management, flood relief mobilization, COVID-19 response, and Project Kuhiro — consistently bringing together volunteers, institutions, businesses, and communities to mobilize resources and direct support.

A recognized voice in youth leadership and entrepreneurship, Goyal served as President of the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (NYEF), Kathmandu, from 2021 to 2023, and is also a Co-Founder of the Nepal Center for Political Leadership (NCPL). His appointment is expected to further strengthen institutional governance and long-term value creation at Excel Development Bank, reflecting his broader vision of fostering collaboration between the private sector, financial institutions, youth leadership, and communities for Nepal’s economic and social development.
